Famous Naatkhwaan Asad Iqbal from Calcutta, India, sponsored by the ICCR, Government of India, was our chief guest this year. Many programmes were scheduled across the island between 27th February to 7th March 2010. The official celebration was held on Saturday 27th February 2010 at Aleemiah College in the presence of H.E Maulana Muhammad Shah Anas Noorani Siddiqui, the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. The Hon. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam, The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Sir Aneerood Jugnuth, Honourable Ministers, ambassadors and other eminent personalities.
